General Idea: On Sunday night Information reached land

quarters that 2 buttalions of Chinere regular broopa, with-

-out guns,

had crossed the entier andere advancing on

Kowloon.

The line of outposts Weing an exteting on the night of Sun-

-day the 8th., the H,K,V,R. are ordered to proceed to Lai

Chi Kak on Monday nor bug and atinok tlu enemy's right

flank.

A party 120 strongis ordered to gain the hill (498 ft.) to

the North "est of the Emigration Puta man the purpose of

protecting the right flank of the main attack up the ridge

to the North of Emigration Huts, and to cover its advance.

This party-represented by the 75 rank & Pile who turn out

landed at Tai Chi Kok at 9.15 m. .. And advanced along the

shore to the foot of the above mentioned Pill and helted on

aspur just above the village,

Scouts were sent out and & all flaking party te vatch

10 right flank, and Fast side of the ill.

The advance then commenced and on Frining the ridge below

and to the East of the top of the hill, a halt was made,

there being no enemy in strht.

Scoute proceeded to the top at Hill and signalled back

"enemy in aight",

The advance was continued and 56, belonging to Nos. 1 and

3 Companies 16 strong, took up position in trenches and

under cover and opened fire on the targets.
